At some point I came to the conclusion that I needed to take my music recording seriously. I started with a Vestax 6 track digital studio and upgraded over time to a Roland vs-2480.

All along the way I kept my computer in the loop.  Many times I didn’t have access to other musicians so I had to rely on many forms of technology.  I tried to find a balance between the hard timing of the machines and the live feel of people playing instruments.  I guess that it helped my playing a bit because drum machines don’t stray from the beat much.

The next few pages have some of the music that my friends and I recorded.
